One year into the Obama administration, two things are very clear—advocates have an opportunity to make major gains in nuclear policy, but face a daunting debate and significant communications challenges in advancing that agenda.
A soon-to-be-released media audit by ReThink Media demonstrates that supporters of arms control, disarmament, and nuclear security have struggled to make a persuasive case in the media, especially on television and the opinion pages, and offers recommendations on how those efforts can be strengthened.
The agenda for the event will include a review and discussion of the latest public opinion research and recommendations from US in the World, a presentation of the top findings and recommendations of the media audit from the staff of ReThink Media, followed by an intensive communications and interview training specially designed for advocates to integrate these findings into their daily work with the media.
